Core Responsibilities / Tasks
Purpose of the Role
Promote and differentiate BASF as a value-adding, technically excellent, and customer-focused company in the manufacture and supply of solutions to the mining industry. Act as the key BASF representative on customer sites, managing relationships, service, product performance, and coordinating support departments as needed.
Functional / Operational tasks
- Achieve or exceed sales targets (volumes, sales, profit) for assigned applications and sales areas.
- Increase sales to existing customers and develop new business opportunities.
- Sustain and develop customer relationships, identifying key contacts and decision-makers.
- Support technical teams with laboratory and industrial trials at customer sites.
- Create and maintain account concepts, including relationship matrices, customer demand analysis, and growth plans.
- Manage supply of products through accurate forecasting and communication with supply chain teams.
- Maintain local stock and handle dysfunctional stock proactively.
- Control working capital by managing overdues, credit, storage, and DSO.
- Generate and upload customer visit reports in Salesforce and SharePoint.
- Use Salesforce to plan and record customer interactions and foster team communication.
- Prepare monthly reports and maintain accurate customer pricing data.
- Promote cross-BU and segment selling in the mining and mineral processing markets.
- Align customer contracts and negotiations with Contract Managers and RSMs.
- Collect market intelligence on chemical demands, competition, and regulations.
- Ensure personal EHS compliance daily.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: University degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Chemical, or Mining Engineering preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in mineral processing industry, including business development and technical application experience, especially with mine operators.
- Proven understanding of mining processes, chemicals, laboratory testing, and beneficiation processes.
- Mining industry network in Saudi Arabia is a plus.
- Experience with SAP, PMM, Salesforce, and MS Office.
- Ability to multitask, work in teams, and handle challenging situations effectively.
- Willingness to travel extensively (at least 50%) to site locations such as Waad Al Shamal and Al Jalamid.

IT skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Language skills (level)
- Fluent in English.
- Arabic is a plus.
Driving License
- Must have a valid driving license.
Ability to fly to other GCC countries and Europe
- Must be able to travel as required, including cultural fit considerations.
