Highly qualified candidate is required for the College of Computer Engineering and Science (CCES) at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University. The successful candidate will serve as a member of the College administration. The Associate Chair coordinates departmental activities with other units in the College and the University, and collaborates with the college administration to develop and implement initiatives. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Computer Engineering and Sciences.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)
- A Ph.D. in a computer-related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, etc.) from an accredited, reputable Western university.
- Minimum of 5 years of academic experience (teaching, administration, research, etc.).
- Industrial experience is a plus.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Familiarity with technology-infused academic environments.
- Previous experience in the Middle East or GCC countries is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between campuses and other units of the institution.
- Ensure compliance with College and University rules and regulations.
- Oversee curriculum development and revisions.
- Review and assess academic programs.
- Assess general education outcomes in core courses.
- Support managing course schedules, registrations, and instructor assignments.
- Participate in university and community service activities.
- Support recruitment efforts and faculty development.
- Evaluate faculty and staff performance.
- Uphold high professional standards, aligning with College policies and values.
- Work with students to provide a world-class educational experience.
- Promote inclusiveness and respect diversity within the College community.
- Contribute to policy development in teaching and curriculum design.
- Participate in course and program review, assessment, and quality assurance.
- Provide guidance and support to students, addressing issues or referring to specialists as needed.
- Teach courses offered by CCES as required.
- Engage in research and scholarly activities.
