Job Purpose

To lead the Shop drawings, Coordination, material selection & approval process for Electrical Work from start to finish, ensuring that all designs meet client requirements, are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing, overseeing the development of detailed construction plans.

Key Accountability Areas

1. Drafting and Development: Draft electrical systems and components using (Revit) and specialized design tools. Develop detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications.
2. Electrical Systems Design: Familiarize with the electrical systems for buildings including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security and control systems.
3. Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Building Code (IBC), and local building and safety codes.
4. Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and clients, to coordinate electrical design activities.
5. Load Calculations and Analysis: Conduct load calculations and electrical system analysis to ensure proper sizing and performance of electrical equipment and systems.
6. Quality Control: Review and verify the accuracy of electrical drawings to ensure they meet project requirements and adhere to quality standards.
7. Problem-solving: Identify and resolve technical issues or discrepancies in electrical designs.
8. Construction Support: Provide support during the construction phase by responding to requests for information (RFIs) and clarifying design intent.
9. Communication: Effectively communicate with internal teams and external vendors to convey technical information.
10. Project Coordination: Assist in project coordination by providing timely updates on the status of electrical drawings.
11. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and seek opportunities to improve design processes.

Role Accountability

1. System Layout and Configuration: Accountable for laying out electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, communication, and control systems.
2. Detailing and Annotation: Ensure that drawings are properly annotated with dimensions, notes, and symbols.
3. Creating Shop Drawings: Create/Review accurate and detailed drawings, including schematics and circuit diagrams using software such as AutoCAD and REVIT.
4. Component Selection and Specification: Research, evaluate, and select electrical components based on project requirements.
5. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports and design documentation.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that electrical designs comply with relevant industry standards and building codes.
7. Quality Assurance and Review: Conduct quality assurance reviews of designs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
8. Client Communication and Support: Provide technical expertise and support to clients throughout the project phases.

Academic Qualification

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or any relevant field.
