Job Summary :

As HSE Specialist – EPS Saudi Arabia, you will maintain positive and proactive relations with key stakeholders and employees of the business by assisting with the ongoing day-to-day provision of HSE support, advice, training, and reporting functions. You will help develop solutions and implement strategies to address key risk areas, communicate changes and process improvements, and actively participate in formal and informal communication to increase awareness of HSE issues. You will lead local audits, review work practices, and recommend improvements to processes and systems. Your knowledge of HSE systems, including ISO14001 and ISO 45001, and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems will be critical. Developing our business involves developing our people’s skills; with the support of the EH HSE Manager, you will be open to career progression and self-development to reach personal and business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY & AUTHORITY :

  • Ensure all company policies surrounding HSE are met.
  • Host and lead audits (internal, client, and authorities).
  • Achieve all relevant KPIs and metrics.
  • Prepare health and safety plans and support the development of internal policies.
  • Promote incident prevention for employees and visitors.
  • Coordinate and maintain the HSE systems daily.
  • Report on HSE system performance and suggest improvements.
  • Assess legislative requirements and implement policies for compliance.
  • Record incidents and produce statistics for management.
  • Assist in developing and presenting HSE training.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to improve systems and processes.
  • Stay updated with new legislation and industry developments.
  • Monitor and analyze technical and legal standards.
  • Advise on specific areas like fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, machinery safeguarding, and occupational diseases.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required.
  • Develop practical processes to minimize HSE risks.
  • Create impactful HSE campaigns and initiatives.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene and occupational health requirements.
  • Support risk assessments and control implementations.
  • Ensure assessments are conducted, reviewed, and records maintained.
  • Investigate incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Support and conduct safety training, including orientation, SSE programs, and refresher courses.
  • Manage waste and raw materials properly, including labeling, inspections, and disposal.
  • Conduct internal audits per ISO standards and present findings and recommendations.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIRED :

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Graduate in Engineering or Diploma.
  • Working knowledge of HSE systems, ISO14001 and/or ISO 45001.
  • Experience in HSE management and incident investigation.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in oil and gas.
  • Thorough knowledge of Saudi Arabia HSE laws and standards.
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in HSE systems operation and management.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in HSE advisory roles in oil and gas.
  • Support to departments and global HSE team.
  • Update knowledge according to NOV and customer HSE systems.
  • Familiarity with HSE regulations within NOV EPS group.
  • NEBOSH IGC Certification, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 Internal Auditor Course, and other HSE trainings like First Aid and Fire Warden.
