Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 to 4 years of experience with high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, protection and control, monitoring, and measuring devices in industries or utilities
  • Computer literacy and excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of Hitachi HV products and components, including monitoring systems, operating devices, and control devices. Responsibilities include operating mechanisms of circuit breakers and drives, handling SF6 gas, analyzing test results, and performing related tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Execute installation, testing, and commissioning activities at customer sites or Hitachi projects, including third-party HV products if authorized.
  2. Participate in site activities, visiting customer locations for installation and commissioning of HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB, and other equipment.
  3. Coordinate with tools management to ensure proper use and maintenance of HV testing equipment and tools.
  4. Complete GIS installation, compartment assembly, minor fabrication, troubleshooting, and rectification of HV product defects at customer sites. Advise on repair actions, whether on-site or at the factory.
  5. Learn and operate test equipment used for HV product testing and maintenance.
  6. Collaborate with the Project Management team, ensuring compliance with project requirements and site regulations.
  7. Lead contractors/sub-contractors during job execution, coordinate resources, and ensure proper documentation and sign-offs for invoicing.
  8. Prepare site reports, activity plans, and resource requirements, sharing them with relevant teams.
  9. Adhere to company policies, display professional behavior, and report safety or integrity incidents promptly.
  10. Implement Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity in daily activities.
  11. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly timesheets, expense reports, and travel authorizations as per guidelines.
