Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Network Security Engineer to support our network security operations. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with a solid foundation in networking and a passion for cybersecurity. You will work alongside experienced engineers to help protect our network infrastructure and ensure the secure delivery of IT services across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining network security devices including Next-generation firewall (NGFW), VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network access controls (NAC).
  2. Support implementation and management of firewall rules, security policies, and network segmentation strategies.
  3. Monitor network traffic and security alerts, investigating potential threats and escalating as needed.
  4. Help maintain and improve secure remote access solutions, including VPNs and multi-factor authentication.
  5. Participate in vulnerability scans of network devices and assist in remediation planning and tracking.
  6. Work with IT and infrastructure teams to support secure network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  7. Assist with network security audits and maintain documentation for configurations, changes, and procedures.
  8. Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices related to network security.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0-3 years of experience in IT, networking, or security roles.
  • Foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and network protocols.
  • Familiarity with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), VPN technologies, and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Basic understanding of security principles and best practices (e.g., least privilege, defense-in-depth).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
