Context

This AMIRAL Project, developed by Saudi Aramco and Total, involves a large-scale integrated petrochemical facility including a mixed feed cracker, derivatives units, utilities, and support facilities.

  • Located adjacent to and integrated with the Jubail Export Refinery operated by Saudi Aramco & Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP).
  • Industries are located at AL-Jubail Industrial City II, regulated by the Royal Commission for Jubail And Yanbu (RCJY).
  • The project involves developing a wastewater treatment and reuse plant to process wastewater and spent caustic streams, recover 70% of flows, and deliver demineralized water to clients.

    Main treatment stages include:

  • Flow balancing, catalytic oxidation, cyanide treatment, DAF clarification, biological treatment (MBBR and Bio-DAF), ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, brine treatment, and sludge dewatering.
  • The project is financed under a non-recourse scheme, with Veolia and MARAFIQ as sponsors, through a dedicated project company.

    Job Description

    Main Accountabilities

    Oversee engineering aspects, review civil documents, coordinate with vendors, manage interfaces, ensure compliance with specifications, lead the project engineering team, and monitor civil works progress and quality.

    Detailed Job Responsibilities

    Technical

    • Coordinate engineering activities and CAD drawings.
    • Review datasheets, calculations, and vendor drawings.
    • Track document submissions and ensure compliance with project specifications.
    • Assist procurement with technical evaluations.
    • Ensure interface coordination among disciplines.
    • Evaluate vendor quotes and supervise design quality.
    • Manage engineering change notices and participate in client meetings.
    • Supervise civil works and ensure compliance with local authorities.
    • Monitor project progress, quality, and safety procedures.
    • Supervise drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
    • Collaborate with architects and contractors to meet project goals.
    • Provide technical advice during construction, ensuring safety and quality standards.

    Safety & Quality

    • Apply safety and quality procedures relevant to activities.

    Qualifications

    • Master's in Civil Engineering or Design.
    • 10+ years experience in water treatment and engineering.
    • P&ID Level 2, Civil Design Level 4, Civil Knowledge Level 4, Water Treatment Level 2 (specify levels clearly).

    Additional Attributes

    • Strong analytical, planning, results-oriented, and creative skills (Level 3).
