Job Description

Oversee and direct all material management activities for military vessel construction projects, ensuring the timely acquisition, storage, distribution, and traceability of materials in compliance with regulatory and project-specific standards. Drive efficient material flow, minimize waste, and support project delivery through robust inventory and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic and Functional Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement material management strategies aligned with project milestones and production schedules.
  • Ensure material traceability and documentation in compliance with IACS, Class Society, and MIL-SPEC requirements.
  • Oversee all aspects of material receiving, storage, handling, preservation, and issuance.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials.
  • Implement inventory control systems to monitor stock levels, consumption rates, and reorder points.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and logistics to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Lead material audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for material management performance, waste reduction, and cost savings.
  • Ensure hazardous and sensitive materials are handled and disposed of according to regulatory and environmental standards.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of warehouse supervisors, inventory controllers, and material handlers.
  • Assign roles, set performance objectives, and conduct regular team reviews.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on best practices in material handling, safety, and compliance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within the team.
  • Salary includes Basic, Housing and Transportation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within shipbuilding or heavy manufacturing industries.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale material operations for complex projects.
