Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform activities related to testing and validation of equipment, according to design objectives or specifications for operational use, including performance services and tests.
- Develop conceptual knowledge of the professional discipline. Support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad areas may be involved.
- Apply general knowledge of business developed through education or experience.
- Understand how your team's work contributes to the overall area.
- Resolve issues using established procedures, consulting supervisors or senior team members for issues outside defined instructions.
- Collaborate with others to solve issues. Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE, exchanging technical information and ensuring understanding.
- Responsible for activities related to Substation Automation System commissioning on customer sites, including site mobilization, commissioning work, and management activities.
- Ensure compliance with Project Management Handbook, GRID Quality & EHS Policies, and IMS procedures.
- Record and report Quality Objectives & KPI data.
- Coordinate with clients for daily activities.
- Recommend field changes beneficial to plant operations or necessary for efficient commissioning.
- Prepare final commissioning reports, highlighting problem areas, recommended engineering changes, and organizational improvements.
- Prepare monthly progress reports on commissioning activities, noting delays, errors, or missing spares.
- Write technical documentation, including test reports, repair reports, findings, solutions, and technical reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and safe work practices with electrical equipment.
- Basic experience with communication systems for Protection and Control, including 3rd party IEDs integration.
- Some knowledge of Cybersecurity, IEC61850 protocol, Modbus, IEC101, IEC 104, and IEC 103.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English.
- Legal right to work in KSA without sponsorship or time restrictions.
Desired Characteristics
- Ability to interact respectfully with customers at all levels, from beginners to experts.
- Knowledge of network analysis in power systems.
- Understanding of power system protection and designing/installing protective devices.
- Knowledge of Substation Automation using digital technology.
- Negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
