Job Purpose
Jobs at this level are responsible for ensuring high quality of assigned projects through effective supervision and execution of assignments with respect to time and project schedules. They also assist in articulating comprehensive long-term strategies and plans for STC's non-technical projects, in compliance with overall STC objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Manage multiple related projects in a coordinated way, achieving benefits that could not occur if the projects were handled separately.
Formulate project management budgets and plans considering strategic, operational, and implementation costs, along with annual improvement plans.
Oversee the implementation of new outlets and refurbishing existing outlets, including logistical and technical requirements (in coordination with procurement), to ensure all requirements are met for activation.
Identify bottlenecks and optimize process flows to improve efficiencies, control costs, and drive synergies within project management.
Develop and articulate long-term plans (3-year, 5-year) related to General Projects and analyze these plans for senior management.
Review and approve project design and tender documents, including scope of work, bill of quantities, contractual terms, and Terms of Reference (TOR).
Prepare feasibility plans, master plans, and budgets for assigned non-technical projects, ensuring compliance with established budgets.
Develop comprehensive project plans and execution strategies for high-budget and/or high-risk non-technical projects, defining clear scope, objectives, and processes.
Manage project scheduling tools and procedures for effective control.
Monitor project progress against schedules, budgets, and objectives, reporting status regularly to management.
Approve change requests impacting scope, schedule, or budget, and ensure updates are reflected in project milestones.
Coordinate project sign-offs from consultants and contractors upon completion and review projects before asset handover.
Evaluate vendor bids, participate in negotiations, and oversee vendor review and registration processes.
Identify potential project risks, plan mitigation strategies, and initiate preventive actions to avoid delays.
Coordinate with relevant sectors on consulting contract management, invoicing, and payments.
Troubleshoot project issues, analyze reports and metrics, and recommend improvements based on market best practices.
Develop contingency plans and assist in Disaster Recovery (DR) project phases, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
Experience & Skills
6-8 years in project management within the telecommunications industry, with strategic responsibilities.
Proficiency in data collection and analysis, project management principles, business acumen, reporting, planning, and vendor management.
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Business Administration or Project Management preferred.
Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional).
