Job Purpose:

The Data Privacy Officer oversees the organization's data protection strategy, ensures compliance with data privacy laws (such as GDPR and CCPA), and manages data privacy risks.

Areas of Contribution and Key Responsibilities:

Operational Involvement Process Administration

  • Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and data audits.
  • Act as the main point of contact for data protection authorities and regulators.
  • Provide privacy training and awareness programs to staff.
  • Monitor data processing activities and address privacy issues.
  • Manage data breach response plans and notifications.
  • Collaborate with legal, IT, Technical Underwriting, Cyber, and business teams to embed privacy into processes.
  • Perform data mapping and inventory to understand data flows.
  • Conduct privacy risk assessments.
  • Assist in developing and updating privacy policies.
  • Monitor adherence to privacy practices.
  • Support Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
  • Prepare reports for management on privacy compliance status.
  • Stay updated on evolving privacy laws and regulations.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Support AICC by analyzing compliance and privacy risks, assisting in developing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring adherence to privacy regulations.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Follow up on client inquiries and requests, ensuring prompt handling and quality service delivery.

Report Development & Documentation

  • Provide accurate and updated data for reporting purposes to support sound decision-making.

Policies and Procedures

  • Strictly adhere to AICC's policies and procedures to ensure error-free and risk-free operations.

Communications & Decision-Making:

The role requires regular communication with internal and external stakeholders using professional written and verbal communication. The position operates within standardized procedures and guidelines, making routine decisions while referring to direct supervision for complex matters.

Role Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • IFCE Certification
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in compliance, risk management, or legal roles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong attention to detail and integrity.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
