Site Engineer

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Project Description:

The project is a major infrastructure programme for a mixed-use development aiming to be a global landmark recognized for its unique vision and position as an authentic destination in Riyadh. The community will be a distinct, self-sustaining hub for Riyadh offering several iconic assets. KBR will provide Project Management Consultancy services in project planning, controls, design and engineering management, and implementation of the development and early works packages.

The Role:

Reports to the Construction Manager. The Site Engineer will assist the construction team with materials submittals, approvals, testing, sampling, etc. He will participate in the quality control of materials, including laboratory and field testing, acceptance of used materials, and checking and accepting remedial and corrective measures.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Review and recommend approval of all submitted materials by the contractor.
  2. Ensure compliance of used materials with project specifications.
  3. Participate in construction quality control.
  4. Supervise and participate in sampling and testing of all materials according to the contract and specifications.
  5. Maintain records of test results and corrective actions.
  6. Track and review site testing and certificates of compliance.
  7. Coordinate activities closely with other staff members.
  8. Inspect and check all delivered materials for conformance to project requirements and approval.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • BSc in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years of overall experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in the Middle East.
  • Knowledge of operational aspects of civil and infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities, with experience in construction management and practice.
  • Experience managing consultants and contractors.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Arabic language skills are a plus.
