About the Azure Infrastructure Organization

The Azure Infrastructure organization accelerates secure migrations for our customers to become AI-Ready by leading migration opportunities involving Windows Server, SQL Server, Linux Estate, and Migrate SAP. We enable cloud modernization at scale, driving innovation with the Azure AI Platform.

Role Overview: Microsoft Technical Specialist (TS)

The main goal of a Microsoft Technical Specialist is to influence customers' technical decisions to purchase and utilize Microsoft technology and cloud services. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across teams, uphold our cultural priorities—including Diversity and Inclusivity, Wellbeing, Sustainability, and Customer Obsession—and develop deep technical expertise across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud technologies.

Territorial Scope

This role covers a vast territory across the Middle Eastern and African regions, providing a unique opportunity to engage with diverse clients and cultures, fostering growth and innovation.

Qualifications
Required / Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field with 4+ years of experience OR a Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience with cloud/hybrid/infrastructure architectures, migrations, industry standards, or technology management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge in Data Center Migration, Windows Server, SQL Server Migration, VMware, Networking, Security, Storage, BCDR, Infrastructure as Code, Hybrid and Arc, and experience with Azure Migrate and RVTools.
  • Knowledge of competitor cloud migration platforms and services.
  • Experience creating cloud migration PoCs and MVPs leading to production deployment.
  • Strong presentation skills for technical demos and solutions.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with senior technical and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Lead technical discussions on Azure Migration, using consultative and Challenger methods, establishing engagement rules.
  • Develop strategies by translating customer visions into migration roadmaps, addressing concerns, and building business cases.
  • Perform technical assessments and develop migration plans.
  • Design solutions that meet customer needs, ensuring technical decision-makers agree on architecture and migration plans.
  • Scale through partners, supporting their technical capacity and identifying skill gaps.
  • Act as the Voice of the Customer, sharing insights and collaborating with engineering to improve products.
  • Identify new opportunities within customer engagements in partnership with sales teams.
