Job Description

The primary mission of the Operation Engineer is to lead the readiness for vessel operations and serve as the project representative onboard the vessel. During project preparation, the employee will collaborate with the Project Operations Manager and Vessel Asset Manager to verify procedures and ensure the implementation of efficient, cost-effective solutions. They must identify missing points and optimize onboard equipment.

During project execution, the employee will act as the main point of contact between the project team and the Vessel Management Team, suggesting modifications for improvements and interfacing with onboard client representatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC & HSE standards.
  • Review project documentation, report errors, and suggest improvements.
  • Coordinate with client representatives and subcontractors.
  • Monitor work progress and advise on schedule or execution changes.
  • Support planning and execution of work per contractual and technical requirements.
  • Participate in resolving technical issues.
  • Provide operational support to onshore teams.
  • Coordinate with installation and engineering teams during preparatory phases.
  • Review installation procedures and ensure safe, timely offshore transportation and installation.
  • Manage procurement and logistics for materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate with various departments for offshore activities and vessel readiness.
  • Lead subcontracting activities and vessel qualification processes.
  • Oversee vessel HR and equipment preparation, mobilization, and demobilization.
  • Attend fabrication facilities for readiness checks.
  • Coordinate offshore operations and compile progress reports.
Job Specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, Marine, or Civil Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of offshore construction experience.
  • Experience with Heavy Lift Vessels, Pipelay Vessels, Dive Support Vessels, or Cable Laying Vessels is a plus.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Special Skills/Knowledge
  • Familiarity with offshore industry codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of offshore pipeline, jacket, and topside installation techniques.
