Job Summary

The MES Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) within a production environment. This role bridges the gap between manufacturing operations and IT, ensuring that the MES effectively supports production processes, quality control, and overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

System Implementation & Management:

    • Work on requirement gathering from end user and preparing functional requirement documents of MES system.
    • Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of MES solutions across AMP2 value chain.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing Engineering, IT, SAP, PLM and Quality Assurance) to ensure seamless integration between MES, ERP systems, and other production-related applications.
    • Conduct FAT and UAT of MES Solutions and prepare test cases with reports.
MES Function Improvement

    • Analyze current production processes and workflows to identify opportunities for MES system enhancements
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve system efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance overall production output.
    • Work with stakeholders to define system requirements and develop effective solutions.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting

    • Provide expert-level technical support for MES-related issues, including system troubleshooting and user training.
    • Develop and maintain documentation, including user manuals, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
    • Coordinate with vendors or external consultants as needed to resolve complex issues and manage system upgrades.
Project Management & Training

    • Manage MES-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Develop training programs and conduct training sessions for end-users to maximize the system’s effectiveness.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to manufacturing execution systems.
Educational Background

Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, instrumentation, electronics or a related field. With 3+ years’ experience in below mentioned skills and domain
Technical Expertise

    • In-depth knowledge of MES platforms and their integration with ERP (SAP), PLM and other enterprise systems.
    • Familiarity with industrial automation, SCADA systems, and PLC programming.
    • Proficiency in database management, SQL, and data analytics tools.
    • Experience with system configuration, troubleshooting, and technical support.
Automotive Industry & Process Knowledge

    • Understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and quality control methodologies.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose issues, interpret complex data, and develop effective solutions.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with technical teams, management, and end-users.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
    • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience & Certifications

    • Experience with specific MES software (e.g., Rockwell FactoryTalkProductionCenter).
    • Knowledge of emerging technologies in Industry 4.0, including IoT, machine learning, and manufacturing analytics.
