UPM is seeking a highly qualified Saudi professional to fill the position of Institutional Communication Director.
Functional Description:
The role involves creating and fostering positive relationships with external entities and groups to garner public support, secure governmental approvals, and identify opportunities for financial benefits for the University, its students, faculty, and staff, both now and in the future.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with UPM's mission, goals, and values.
- Coordinate with senior leadership to support institutional objectives through effective communication efforts.
- Maintain positive relationships with media outlets, journalists, and relevant stakeholders.
- Proactively pitch stories, respond to media inquiries, and organize media interviews and coverage.
- Monitor media coverage and manage crisis communication when necessary.
- Oversee internal communication initiatives to effectively disseminate information to faculty, staff, and students.
- Create communication channels and tools to promote transparency, collaboration, and engagement within the university community.
- Lead external communication efforts to highlight UPM's programs, achievements, and initiatives.
- Prepare press releases, newsletters, website content, social media posts, and other communication materials for external audiences.
- Protect and enhance the UPM brand through consistent messaging and visual identity across all channels.
- Develop and enforce brand guidelines to maintain brand integrity and organizational alignment.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders to promote UPM's community involvement.
- Organize outreach events, seminars, and public relations campaigns to boost UPM's visibility and reputation.
- Manage the public relations budget to ensure effective allocation of resources supporting strategic priorities.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Proven experience in Public Relations, Institutional Communication, or similar roles.
- Successful track record in coordinating PR campaigns.
- Expertise in social networks, including Instagram and Twitter.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Creativity and innovative thinking.
- Strong team management capabilities.
- Ability to develop long-term professional relationships.
- BSc in Marketing, Corporate Communications, or relevant field.
