Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from faculty of medicine.
  • Saudi fellowship or equivalent in radiology as per MOH criteria.
  • License and Recognized by SCFHS.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients’ medical histories to ensure imaging procedures will not harm them.
  • Analyze and interpret medical images to diagnose illnesses and injuries.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

Job Summary: A Radiologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound. They interpret medical images to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Follow Department and Organizational Policies and Procedures.
  2. Evaluating patients’ medical histories to ensure the various medical imaging procedures will not harm them.
  3. Suggesting alternative medical imaging techniques, when necessary.
  4. Informing patients about the medical imaging process.
  5. Working with radiology technicians to perfect image quality. Define protocols for different imaging procedures.
  6. Image Interpretation: Analyze and interpret medical images (X-rays and ultrasounds) to diagnose illnesses and injuries.
  7. Diagnostic Procedures: Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound scans.
  8. Consultation: Discuss imaging findings and diagnoses with referring physicians and healthcare providers to determine appropriate treatment plans for patients.
  9. Compiling and verify written reports of results and diagnoses for xray and ultrasound.
  10. Primary reporting for Mammography, CT and MRI scans.
  11. Following medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergency situations, when necessary.
  12. Patient Care: Provide patient care by explaining imaging procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures, and addressing any concerns or questions.
  13. Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and accuracy of imaging procedures and reports, adhering to established protocols and standards.
  14. Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as surgeons, oncologists, and pathologists, to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
  15. Administrative Duties: Complete administrative tasks related to patient care, such as documenting findings, maintaining patient records, and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  16. Document any Critical Findings and relaying the attending Doctor and/ or the Patient.
  17. Provide oversight of the system management for the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  18. Perform other professional duties requested from line manager.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from faculty of medicine.

  3. License and Recognized by SCFHS.
