Job Description

We are seeking a Process Control & Automation Engineer to join our Process Automation & Systems Division within the Process and Control Systems Department.

The department provides services in process engineering, automation, new energy, and digitalization to various Aramco entities.

Your role as a Process Control & Automation Engineer will involve applying your experience in automation systems design, installation, and commissioning for Oil & Gas facilities. You will provide expert advice on operational processes, equipment, technology, and facility design to address operational and maintenance issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement safety instrumented systems (SIS), SCADA, DCS, and Turbo Machinery control systems.
  • Manage process control for hydrocarbon facilities, gas plants, NGL fractionation plants, refineries, petrochemical plants, pipelines, and distribution facilities.
  • Conduct engineering studies to develop optimal solutions, increase revenue, reduce costs, and enhance process safety.
  • Participate in process safety reviews such as HAZOP, SIL analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Perform cost analyses and value engineering to recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities, act as a company representative in technical dealings, and review vendor proposals.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, material specifications, procedures, and best practices.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies to achieve best-in-class performance.
  • Conduct seminars and technical exchanges to promote new technologies and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 20 years of professional experience in technical roles.
  • Experience with the latest automation technologies, DCS, or SIS systems.
  • Leadership in major automation projects, including commissioning and startup.
  • Previous work with major Oil & Gas companies or automation system suppliers.
  • Participation in HAZOP and SIL studies.
  • Experience designing control schemes for boilers, motors, burners, and compressors.
  • Knowledge of process automation networks, communication protocols, and control applications.
