Job description

An IT Technical Support, you ll need to install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults, and solve technical, hardware and software problems either over the phone or in person. You will be working mainly in Computer Networks and Desktop Support for installation, configuring and maintaining computers, printers, IP telephones and other technical computer concerns. You will provide direct user assistance to the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Computer Desktop, Laptop Support and Networks

- Preparations of new computer desktop/laptop before issuance to the Hospital staff, these include the Windows OS, Microsoft Office and other necessary applications needed by the staff.

- Repair, reformatting of damaged computer/laptop and to check thoroughly on how to make it operational by replacing or upgrading some parts.

- Preparation of new computer Image system that will be deployed to all computers desktop and laptops.

- Backup and retrieval of files on damaged desktop/laptop hard disk due to bad sectors, virus infections and other cause due to negligence.

- Assist, setup and installation of applications in the computers used by every department.

- Keep computer systems running smoothly and ensure users get the maximum benefit from them

- Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications

- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks

- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults

- Setup and installation of printer by network or USB depends on the need.

- Configuration and setup of new MFP s including user accounts creation, setting up print/copy quotas and network configuration.

- Minor repairs on MFPs such as paper jam, manual reset and others.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintains the records for the VirusScan/Antivirus applications deployment for laptops and workstations.

- Maintains the Inventory System for IT equipment and devices.

- Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues

- Replace damaged parts as required

- Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports

- Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system

- Support the roll-out of new applications

- Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues

- Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs

- Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)

- Priorities and manage many open cases at one time

- Test and evaluate new technology

- Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.

- Preparing reference material for users by drafting operation instructions

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience on hardware computer systems.
  • Graduate of Computer Engineering, Computer Science or IT Technical Courses.
  • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician certification is an advantage.
  • Technical and Computer Skills.
  • Good and strong communication Skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronics safety procedures.
  • Can prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports as advised.
