PROCESS ENGINEER

General Information:

Job title: Process Engineer

Reports to: Production Manager

Department: Production

Date of preparation / review and update: 20 March 2022

Job Objective:

To ensure the smooth running and time-efficiency of the production processes at EPCCO while maintaining quality and controlling costs. Provide analytical support in reviewing and assessing production processes.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Analyze proposed changes in production processes to ensure positive impacts on cost and efficiency.
2. Establish and coordinate production schedules to ensure timely material availability.
3. Oversee production planning, optimize plant capacity, and minimize equipment downtime.
4. Analyze process parameters, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements.
5. Recommend and implement departmental policies, procedures, and controls to meet procedural, legislative, and quality standards.
6. Perform capacity planning and resource allocation.
7. Address recurring equipment problems with solutions beyond routine maintenance.
8. Use process instruments to audit equipment performance and optimize utilization.
9. Conduct special studies as required.
10. Monitor work progress and report schedule shortfalls.
11. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
12. Monitor equipment performance to ensure proper operation and compliance.
13. Review and compile production documentation, including ISO/API manuals and SOPs.
14. Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
15. Ensure projects conform to specifications, standards, and regulations.
16. Witness commissioning of new equipment to verify compliance with specifications.

Qualifications and Competencies:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.

Languages:

• Proficiency in Arabic and English.

Skills:

• Expertise in process engineering disciplines and EPCCO plant operations.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles and risk management.
• Strong communication, management, and leadership skills.
• Specialized knowledge of cement manufacturing and quarrying processes.
• Problem-solving and time management skills.
• Understanding of cost accounting and labor reporting.
• Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Experience:

• 7 to 10 years in relevant industrial or mining/cement environment.
• At least 5 years in a senior supervisory role or equivalent.
