Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the heavy equipment rental business, ensuring efficient management of the fleet.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize equipment utilization, maintenance, and logistics.
- Manage a team of operators, drivers, and technicians, including scheduling and performance monitoring.
- Coordinate delivery, setup, and pickup of rental equipment at customer sites.
- Address customer issues related to equipment rentals.
- Monitor equipment condition and maintenance schedules to maintain optimal fleet performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements for operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Maintain records of equipment usage, maintenance, and customer interactions.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams on equipment availability and pricing.
- Assist in developing maintenance plans and oversee scheduled services and repairs.
- Resolve operational issues and customer complaints promptly.
- Provide performance reports to the Operations Manager and stakeholders.
- Participate in developing the business strategy for the rental division.
- Seek opportunities to enhance customer experience and explore new revenue sources.
- Oversee operations of the rental business and workshop activities.
- Manage workshop technicians, rental coordinators, and logistics staff.
- Ensure timely delivery and return of rental equipment.
- Develop maintenance and repair schedules for the fleet.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
- Analyze operational data to improve processes and productivity.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement operational policies and procedures.
- Train and guide team members to improve skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize overall business performance.
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
- Valid heavy equipment operator's license or certification.
Experience
- At least 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in heavy equipment rental or related industry.
- Proven experience managing heavy equipment fleets, including scheduling and maintenance.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
