Job Summary

The Senior QA/QC Engineer ensures that work/projects are delivered based on good work practices and project specifications to guarantee completion of work on time with quality that meets or exceeds client expectations by implementing international quality standards, plans, and procedures in all construction activities.

Job Responsibilities 1
  1. Manage and oversee the quality and workmanship of all activities, with thorough knowledge of all phases of civil, architectural, and structural engineering construction, interfacing with multidisciplinary operations.
  2. Manage QA/QC documents for the entire project, including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports, site instructions/observations, and documentation related to permanent materials.
  3. Develop standards for inspections and tests, oversee testing methods, and maintain high quality standards for all processes.
  4. Follow QA/QC plans, approved methods of statements, test plans, and drawings to meet project quality requirements and client expectations.
  5. Ensure all method statements, ITPs, and drawings are approved, current, and properly followed on site, removing outdated documents.
  6. Prepare work inspection requests for each activity and submit to the consultant to ensure comprehensive coverage of all construction activities.
Job Responsibilities 2
  1. Ensure thorough inspection of all site items before calling the consultant for inspection.
  2. Ensure work inspections are conducted per plans, advising the construction team on corrections to avoid rejection.
  3. Verify that all drawings used are approved and up-to-date.
  4. Aim for at least 90% of inspections to pass on first submission.
  5. Conduct toolbox talks and method statement briefings for all activities, maintaining records in monthly Quality reports.
  6. Check all incoming materials against specifications and approved submittals.
  7. Inspect materials internally before inspection requests and usage on site; raise NCRs for rejected materials and record inspections in monthly reports.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of standards such as ISO 9001, QCS, ASTM, BSI, BSEN, ACI, and AASHTO. Technical experience in QC issues, ability to prioritize, multitask, be proactive, and meet deadlines. Effective English communication skills. Ability to read drawings, specifications, and data sheets. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Primavera, and ERP systems like SAP. Capable of supervising or executing project sections with minimal supervision.

Job Experience

Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 5 years relevant experience; GCC experience is a plus.

Education
