Job description

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fire safety programs and protocols to minimize the risk of fire incidents within the hospital.
  • Conduct regular fire safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate actions to rectify any issues promptly.
  • Ensure that all fire alarms, fire detection systems, and firefighting equipment are fully functional and in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate fire drills and evacuation exercises to prepare staff for emergency situations, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal disruption.
  • Lead fire safety training sessions to educate staff on fire prevention techniques, evacuation procedures, and the proper use of firefighting equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination during emergencies, including developing emergency response plans and conducting regular drills.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to fire safety activities, inspections, training sessions, and incidents, adhering to legal and administrative requirements.
  • Stay updated on fire safety industry standards, regulations, and best practices, and propose improvements and enhancements to existing safety measures as needed.
  • Act as a liaison with local fire departments and other regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance and addressing any safety concerns raised by external authorities.
  • Stay level of developments in facility management and safety practices, and proactively implement new strategies and technologies to enhance overall safety and security.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in occupational health and safety, Fire Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working as a Safety Officer or in a similar role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Familiarity with fire alarms, fire detection systems, and firefighting equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging training sessions and effectively communicate safety guidelines.
  • Good command in English and Arabic.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Proactive approach to safety management, with the ability to propose innovative ideas and improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and external authorities.
  • Certification in fire safety, emergency management, or related fields is highly desirable.
