PSAB : Electrical Systems Lead

The Prince Sultan Air Base (PSAB) Electrical Systems Lead will oversee the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications of electrical distribution systems.
This role supports BASE OPERATING SUPPORT - Installation (BOS-I) services for the 378 Air Expeditionary Wing (AEW) and associated units, including transient, TDY, permanent, and rotational personnel, as well as five remote Army sites at PSAB, KSA.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power distribution systems and components, including capacitor banks, switches, transformers, fuses, lighting, receptacles, and motors.
- Inspect, test, and service overhead and underground cables, powerline poles for damage, and related infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using technical manuals, codes, and directives.
- Climb utility poles and operate specialized vehicles and equipment for system maintenance and repair.
- Test air samples in manholes for hazardous gases and oxygen deficiency.
- Maintain and repair special electrical systems and airfield lighting, including runway and taxiway lights.
- Collaborate with U.S. and KSA forces, sharing information and supporting team efforts.
- Ensure contractual performance objectives are achieved.
- Supervise a diverse, international workforce and coordinate with power generation personnel.
- Be available within two hours for on-site response as needed.
- Maintain service delivery for approximately 4,000 personnel.
- Ensure personnel training and compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Manage government and contractor property responsibly.
- Submit required contractual documentation timely.
- Comply with US, Saudi, EPA, OSHA, NFPA, IEEE, and other applicable standards and codes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT USED :
- Wear PPE such as hard hats, gloves, steel-toed boots, safety glasses; may need to lift heavy equipment.
- Use radios, mobile devices, and laptops for communication and work tracking.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
- Work occurs indoors and outdoors, with exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and chemicals.
- Overtime, shift work, and travel may be required.
- Adherence to all safety and regulatory requirements is mandatory.
- Preparedness to operate in wartime or contingency environments is essential.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
- Lift up to 35 lbs, team lift up to 50 lbs, climb, stand, sit, and perform physical tasks including bending and stretching.
- Use PPE and possibly body armor, helmets, and other protective gear.
- Perform routine office activities and physical exertion as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years relevant experience.
- Electrical certifications, vocational training, or DOD electrical schooling preferred.
- Military electrical experience (e.g., USAF 3EO) highly desired.
- U.S. citizenship, valid driver’s license, and U.S. passport with sufficient validity and blank pages.
- Active or ability to obtain U.S. SECRET security clearance.
- Fluent in English.
- Meet CENTCOM MOD-15 theater requirements.
SKILLS :
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles, including measurement, transformers, grounding, and lightning protection.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
- Experience with high and low voltage systems and safety standards.
- Knowledge of fire and intrusion alarm systems, cathodic protection, and airfield lighting.
- First aid, CPR, pole-top rescue, and other safety certifications preferred.
- Understanding of military and environmental regulations.
- Organized, results-oriented team player with decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
- Willingness to work long hours and in contingency environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Experience with government contracts and contingency operations.
