JOB PURPOSE:
Ensure superior presence of Americana products in the assigned stores according to the company’s distribution, promotions and pricing plans strategies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operational
- Develop merchandising strategy and in-store programs that balance customers’ expectations and the company’s objectives
- Implement and monitor results of in-store and merchandising activities in coordination with merchandisers (internal or external)
- Monitor competitor merchandising activities, in-store trends and related development and identify potential impact on Americana’s sales
- Analyse sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges / stock
- Identify and recommend prominent display opportunities / locations in coordination with the Trade Marketing team
- Develop weekly working plan for merchandisers and accompany merchandisers on their routes as per requirements
- Manage storage and distribution of all P.O.S. materials and other merchandising and sampling aids with proper records
- Consult with store managers, buyers, sales associates, or warehouse staff to determine the appropriate placement of displays or products
- Maximise customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately
- Develop in coordination with the supervisors the ideas or plans for merchandise displays
- Implement planogram within the agreed space for stores, and maintain store shelves and inventory in compliance of BDAs
- Monitor product shelf life / near expiry products / damaged goods and initiate physical return of the product to the warehouse after seeking due approvals from Sales Director (in-line with BDA)
- Follow up on or set up products in-store space using colors, lights, pictures, or other accessories to display the product
- Follow up on installing booths, exhibits, displays, carpets, or drapes, as guided by the floor plan of building or specifications
- Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs
- Co-ordinate with marketing managers and area sales manager concerning all in-store and related activities that will impact product performance
- Develop and conduct merchandising seminars to sales teams whenever required
Reporting
- Conduct surveys on pricing, competition and provide inputs to sales and trade marketing teams
- Prepare reports on point of sale trend, market share, store coverage, in-store execution as well as assortment and promotion performance
- Support Modern Trade team on opportunities, shelf planning, planogram, etc. by sharing reports and insights
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Academic and professional qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration from a reputed University; specialization in Marketing and Sales Management would be preferred
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in consumer products / packaged goods sector
