Job summary

A leading company in the energy sector is seeking a fully qualified Legal Counsel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering comprehensive legal services, negotiating contracts, and providing legal advice on various matters. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in legal practice, preferably within the construction or energy sectors, and must be fluent in both Arabic and English.

Qualifications

Job description

Legal Counsel - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

We are seeking a fully qualified lawyer to provide comprehensive legal services for our zone, including:

  1. Delivery of all legal services, both directly and through approved external resources.
  2. Oversight and delivery of legal services for domestic and international bids, with a focus on commercial contract review (including distributor agreements), in collaboration with the Regional Legal Team.
  3. Providing timely and quality legal advice on areas such as general commercial transactions, Saudi law guidance, employment and safety, product and quality issues, and data protection.
  4. Acting as a key member of the Global Legal Department (GLD) and a strategic business partner to deliver high-quality legal support.
  5. Negotiating contracts and deals on behalf of the company.
  6. Supporting the Compliance Central team by implementing governance policies, proofreading policies, and investigating ethical concerns and misconduct within the country.
  7. Overseeing claims and litigation, including reporting.
  8. Managing collaboration with external resources.
  9. Supporting cross-functional activities within the zone.
  10. Assisting other regional team members as requested by Legal Management.
  11. Guiding managers to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified lawyer authorized to practice law in Saudi Arabia.
  • Seven to eight (7-8) or more years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in an in-house environment within the Construction, Oil & Energy, or Renewables & Environment sectors.
  • Native Arabic speaker and fluent in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
