Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Service Technician

Reports to: Shift Leader

Job Summary: Vanderlande is the global market leader in baggage handling systems for airports, sorting systems for parcel and postal services, and Warehouse Solutions. Working at our customer site in Jeddah, the Service Technician will perform maintenance duties and reactive calls on our Material Handling System to ensure productivity, equipment availability, health & safety compliance, quality, and team collaboration are optimized according to agreed timelines.

Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):

1. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, ATR systems, baggage handling equipment, and conveyor systems using diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications with appropriate tools.
2. Ensure safe working practices at all times, complying with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
3. Prepare and execute service calls, emergency maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
4. Perform preventive maintenance and follow up on corrective work orders.
5. Report service calls accurately.
6. Advise on and implement system optimizations, consulting supervisors and proposing improvements to service quality.
7. Develop tools and methods to support service activities.
8. Un-jam conveyors and resolve system errors.
9. Attend to manual encoding stations and load correction zones.
10. Complete CMMS service reports, parts usage, and warranty records.
11. Research and request spare parts as needed.
12. Perform inventory counts.
13. Work independently on preventive maintenance tasks on-site.
14. Identify planning and tooling issues, providing input for improvements.
15. Assist other technicians in fault correction.
16. Correct standard faults independently.
17. Instruct and guide less experienced technicians.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or higher in Electrical/Electromechanical fields.
• At least 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical or electrical maintenance.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings/prints.
• Preferably, at least 2 years of experience with material handling systems.
• At least 1 year of CMMS experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Basic knowledge of controls systems (PLC, PC).
