Job Description
- Position Requirements: High-Voltage Primary Systems Engineer
- Proven Track Record: Leading electrical back-energization activities with successful execution in at least two (2) power plant projects.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of installation, testing, and commissioning of high-voltage systems such as Gas Circuit Breakers (GCB), Isolated Phase Busbars (IPB), and high-voltage cable systems (laying, installation, and termination). Proficiency in interpreting single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment layout drawings.
- Project Execution: Ability to lead electrical teams for back-energization activities, ensuring compliance with grid interconnection protocols and safety standards. Experience coordinating with EPC contractors, grid operators, and testing agencies during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
- Standards & Compliance: Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ANSI, and SEC standards for high-voltage installations. Familiarity with arc flash safety protocols, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, grounding, and bonding requirements.
- Additional Requirements: Certifications such as high-voltage safety certifications (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA) and Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent are preferred.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines in construction-site environments.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience: At least 5 years of direct experience with SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) power plant projects or similar large-scale utility projects.
- Language: Fluency in English; Arabic skills are a plus.
- Overall Experience: Minimum of 10 years in power plant installation, including design, construction, and commissioning of electrical systems.
