JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE POSITION OF

Operations Lead

Start date August 2025

Contract type Fixed Term, Full Time

Location King’s College Riyadh

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Principal or their delegated person, the Operations Lead will support the day-to-day management of non-academic operations at King’s College Riyadh, managing the implementation and development of shared policies and procedures across the school.

The Operations Lead will work closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team with the prime objective of ensuring the smooth, compliant, and safe daily operations of the school, supported by a team of operations staff at the school.

The responsibilities of the Operations Lead will include ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures are followed, applicable standards are met, and hazards identified and remedied in a timely manner.

The Operations Lead will also contribute to the business activities of the schools, ensuring excellent customer service and high levels of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholders.

Facilities Management

The post-holder will:

  • Have responsibility for all services that support the running of the school premises, including:
  • Managing the on-site cleaning and maintenance teams;
  • Be the primary contact for contractual issues about premises-related contracts, such as those for grounds maintenance, plant maintenance, and CCTV/alarm/door access;
  • Arrange regular meetings with third-party providers to discuss performance and any matters of concern;
  • Manage the tendering process upon termination or expiration of contracts;

Additional responsibilities include preparing reports, dealing with correspondence, ensuring maintenance and security of buildings and grounds, and managing equipment and utilities.

Day-to-Day Operations

The post-holder will:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the school day, supporting teachers and support staff;
  • Be the primary contact for all catering-related matters;
  • Encourage and lead environmental sustainability targets;
  • Lead management plans for air quality.
Event Management and School Trips

The post-holder will:

  • Manage logistics for school events and trips;
  • Coordinate setup and smooth operation of events, including catering and AV;
  • Work with the Director of Co-Curricular to ensure safety and success of trips.
Health and Safety

The post-holder will:

  • Organize and chair the Health & Safety Committee;
  • Conduct weekly site monitoring walks;
  • Work with the Principal to ensure safety and security, implementing procedures and improvements;
  • Investigate accidents and hazards;
  • Maintain health and safety standards and compliance;
  • Prepare and maintain Crisis Management Plans and Fire Evacuation procedures.
Procurement

The post-holder will:

  • Manage operational and capital expenses;
  • Coordinate procurement of supplies and inventory management;
  • Prepare resource orders and manage inventories;
  • Oversee procurement procedures.
Risk Management

The post-holder will:

  • Participate in risk management processes;
  • Identify operational risks and mitigation strategies.
Business Development

The post-holder will:

  • Embed commercial perspectives in operational activities;
  • Identify revenue-generating activities;
  • Negotiate contracts and fees for approval.
Other

Fulfill additional responsibilities as requested by the Principal.
