JOB SUMMARY

The HR Manager directs and collaborates with Human Resources and Operations employees to manage daily activities within the Human Resource Office, including recruitment, total compensation, training and development, labor relations, and performance management. The role focuses on delivering HR services that meet employee needs and support business success, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
  1. Leading and Monitoring Recruitment and Hiring Activity
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring HR team members with appropriate skills.
  • Establish and maintain contact with external recruitment sources.
  • Attend job fairs and document outreach efforts per SOPs.
  • Network with local organizations to source candidates.
  • Oversee candidate identification and selection processes.
  • Provide expertise to property managers on selection procedures.
  • Partner with vendors to advertise open positions effectively and attract diverse candidates.
  • Perform quality control on vendor sourcing and selection performance.
  • Administering and Providing Education on Employee Benefits
    • Coordinate with unemployment services to respond to claims and review reports.
    • Attend unemployment hearings and represent the property.
    • Ensure resources are available for benefits administration.
  • Managing Employee Development
    • Support new hire orientation and training programs.
    • Ensure cross-training and ongoing training initiatives.
    • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding to promote a positive first impression.
  • Maintaining Employee Relations
    • Develop communication channels and manage employee issues through an open-door policy.
    • Refer issues to management or escalate as needed.
    • Partner with Loss Prevention on accident investigations.
    • Communicate performance expectations based on job descriptions.
  • Managing Legal and Compliance Practices
    • Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with privacy laws.
    • Handle medical records securely.
    • Facilitate drug testing processes where applicable.
    • Disseminate property rules and safety policies.
    • Review claims and manage Workers Compensation processes.
    • Ensure proper procedures in selection and notification processes.
