Job Purpose
Lead the quantitative analytical functions for the Finance Complex on financial sustainability and projections analyses, credit rating analyses, sovereign pricing, performance measurements, benchmarking, and management of balance sheet and asset-liability management. Serve as the focal point for developing quantitative methodologies and models to support financial analysis. Provide analytical support for financial policies and product development.
Key Accountabilities
Financial and Risk Analytics
- Lead research to identify key income drivers and cost allocations to optimize the Bank's business model.
- Oversee periodic financial projections, sustainability analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare analytic reports on liquidity management, performance assessment, and attribution analysis for investment portfolios.
- Develop methodologies to assess IDB's ALM and market risks related to financing, investments, funding, and derivatives.
- Identify and measure key and emerging risks in funding, liquidity, profit-rate, currency, and other market risks.
- Collaborate with divisions to review market and liquidity risk profiles, including credit quality, duration mismatch, currency mismatch, gap analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis.
- Conduct stress tests and scenario analyses on portfolios to assess market risk levels.
- Quantify potential exposures to market and liquidity risks from borrowings and report findings.
- Provide quantitative support and modeling for the Policies unit and other teams.
- Assist in developing investment policies and strategic asset allocation parameters.
- Support credit rating analytics, scenario analyses, and sovereign pricing reviews.
- Lead ERM implementation covering ALM, FTP, Liquidity, financial projections, and stress testing.
People Management
- Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to team members.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing feedback and addressing development needs.
- Identify capacity gaps and facilitate training and development initiatives.
- Assist in identifying technical gaps within the team.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Stay updated on latest developments, regulations, and best practices, proposing necessary actions.
- Contribute to budgeting processes and monitor departmental expenditures.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Financial Management, or related field.
- FRM, PRM, or CFA certification preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in financial management, modeling, risk management; experience in investment banking and pricing policies advantageous.
