Job description

We are looking for a highly talented Senior Backend Engineer to join the Fintech team in Riyadh. If you are seeking a position where you can gain hands-on experience and make a direct impact, this could be the right opportunity for you! The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a significant individual contributor, a strong team player, and experience supporting teams and collaborating with management to drive strategic initiatives across the region.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in architectural decision-making for a platform used by millions.
2. Migrate monolithic applications into Microservices.
3. Design, improve, and secure backend architecture to support user and product growth.
4. Manage Docker containers, Kubernetes manifests, on Google Cloud Platform.
5. Coach and mentor team members as a senior team member and part of the Backend Chapter.
6. Follow principles such as Design Driven Development, SOLID, Event-driven Architecture, and automate testing (unit, integration, functional).
7. Collaborate with cross-functional and agile teams throughout the development lifecycle.
8. Contribute to test coverage, refactoring, and documentation efforts.
9. Perform code reviews, debugging, and investigations regularly.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of experience in backend development with GoLang, Ruby on Rails, Java, or Python.
2. Strong database expertise with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases, including normalization, ACID, indexing, query optimization, and caching (Redis, Memcached).
3. Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging tools such as Grafana.
4. Deep understanding of software architecture, including DDD, microservices, Kubernetes, and containerization.
5. Experience with monolithic migration.
6. Experience in Payment processing or Fintech domain is desirable.
7. Strong testing mindset with experience in unit and integration testing.
8. Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate ambiguity and work in fast-paced environments.
