Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Engineer to join our Project Management Office (PMO) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing cost management, design review, and budget control for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals
- Conduct detailed cost analyses and provide regular cost reports to stakeholders
- Review project designs to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation
- Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize financial impacts
- Create and update financial models to forecast project costs and cash flows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet budget constraints
- Manage contract negotiations and change orders, evaluating their financial implications
- Implement and maintain cost control systems to track project expenses and variances
- Provide expert advice on cost-related matters to project managers and senior leadership
- Stay current with local regulations and industry best practices in cost engineering
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 8-10 years of experience in cost engineering and project management, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects
- Extensive knowledge of cost engineering principles, PMO practices, and budget management
- Strong proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project)
- Excellent skills in financial modeling, risk assessment, and contract management
- In-depth understanding of design review processes and their impact on project costs
- Familiarity with construction and engineering practices in Saudi Arabia
- Knowledge of local regulations and standards relevant to project costing and management
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
