As digital payments evolve in the Middle East (MENA), organizations are undergoing digital transformation and seeking simpler, safer, and more affordable ways to process payments, alongside changing consumer behaviors favoring online payments for products and services. Amazon Payments is at the forefront of innovation, re-imagining payments in the region. We have a history of providing innovative solutions, building trusted, simple, and affordable payment experiences, and addressing challenges such as increasing electronic payment coverage, enhancing purchasing power at checkout, mitigating transactional risks, and offering payment insights.

We are seeking a senior and experienced Business Development Manager to join the Amazon.sa Payments team in KSA. This crucial role involves engaging with internal leadership and stakeholders, as well as external ecosystems (banks, regulators, payment providers), to shape the growth of payments for Amazon shopping in Saudi Arabia. The role will focus on driving key goals, P&L management, roadmap prioritization, external partnerships, and internal stakeholder collaboration.

This position is based in Riyadh, KSA.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Operate Payments goals and P&L in collaboration with the Payments Country Lead, focusing on improving payment experience, affordability, access, engagement, and cost reduction.
  2. Contribute to Payments product strategy and prioritization for the country across various payment products and programs.
  3. Lead specific payment programs end-to-end, including strategy, P&L management, and initiatives.
  4. Foster partnership strategies within the KSA Payments ecosystem to enhance Amazon.sa's payment offerings.
  5. Manage relationships with payment partners, negotiate, and finalize business contracts ensuring favorable terms for Amazon.sa.
  6. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in fintech and payments.
  7. Represent Amazon.sa at industry events and conferences to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  8. Coordinate internally with Amazon.sa teams (Product, Finance, Legal, Operations) and broader Amazon teams to achieve objectives.
  9. Contribute to payment planning for shopping events and strategic programs, providing localized insights through customer and market research.
Basic qualifications
  • Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements, leading cross-functional teams to complete deals.
  • 6+ years of professional or military experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, including banking, alternative payments, and fintech solutions.
Preferred qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in the payment industry, especially in partnership management within banking, fintech, or e-commerce sectors.
