Mechanical Engineer Lead
As a Project Leader Engineering, you have the opportunity to work on interesting, international sorting systems. Are you the one who can translate a sales system design into an operational system? Do you like to navigate projects into the right direction and guide these from start to finish?
As Project Leader Engineering, you'll be responsible for leading multidisciplinary projects. You are in the driver's seat to achieve the defined project goals, managing time, quality, costs, and functionalities from mechanical, electrical, and controls perspectives. Together with your colleagues, you will also identify and capitalize on synergies between multiple projects running in parallel to learn from others.
Once rewarded by our customer, our sales colleagues will do a handover to engineering. At this handover, the customer requirements and the as-sold solutions are explained. This serves as input to start up the engineering phase. During the definition phase, you will work closely with lead engineers, the customer, and project management to agree on all system functionalities.
In this phase, you will develop your plan of approach, considering project planning, required resources, supply chain, and on-site installation and commissioning. When there is mutual agreement on the system design, the detailed engineering phase begins, where your team creates specifications to start production and procurement. You will coordinate with internal supply chains and third-party suppliers to ensure quality, planning, logistics, and costs. During ongoing production and procurement, system emulations will be coordinated to validate the controls design. You will also prepare for site installation and commissioning.
Once the customer's building is ready, installation begins, transforming digital 3D models into real-life systems. After physical installation, you will guide controls engineers through system commissioning and testing. Once everything functions properly, acceptance tests with the customer will be conducted, and you will participate in go-live celebrations.
As a Project Leader Engineering, you will continuously identify and mitigate project risks. You will make the most of your project team members' skills and develop them further.
