Job Summary: This product-focused position performs established technical tasks at the sub-system and/or component level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area. This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle. As this role is product-centered, the individual often acts as a central point of coordination and decision-making among product line engineers, customer teams, systems engineers, purchasing, suppliers, and manufacturing.
Main Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in Application Engineering / Service Engineering role
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with commissioning Cummins or equivalent HMLD and HHP engines for various markets such as Automotive, Industrial, Marine (preferred)
- Proficiency in Cummins diagnostic tools like INSITE and CALTERM for electronic engine platforms (preferred)
- Training in Cummins AE Basics is advantageous
- Experience with Marine, Oil & Gas, Automotive, industrial applications of Diesel and gas engines
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather input from stakeholders to inform quality product decisions.

- Utilize and improve processes like Engineering Standard Work (ESW), iDFMEA, and FIRG, and tools such as 7-step problem solving and design review checklists.
- Lead small business impact projects or own complex components, products, systems, or services with accountability.
- Execute work processes independently while developing technical knowledge.
- Develop and improve work processes within a discipline.
- Coordinate work among technicians and interns, and transfer knowledge to less experienced engineers.
- Provide technical support and influence project direction.
- Operate as a specialist within the team.
- Design and develop software architectures and applications to meet client needs.
- Test and implement applications successfully.
- Provide ongoing technical support to clients.
- Understand client requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
