- Lead the accounting team on accounts payable, accounts receivable, stock, fixed assets in ensuring its service lines are delivered promptly and efficiently.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Review and improve processes as and when possible, for greater efficiency.
- Complete general ledger staff responsibilities (as necessary and appropriate)
- Verify and approve journal entries as appropriate.
- Review monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and subledger intercompany accounts.
- Manage void claim cheque and stop payment process.
- Control the process of updating client’s information in the accounting program.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Establish and maintain files and records to document transactions.
- Handle personnel issues relating to staff performance issues.
Qualifications :
- CPA or CMA is preferred.
- Master's degree in accounting or equivalent is a plus.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting.
- Proven 2+ working experience as an Accounting Team Leader.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end / year end close process.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
