Job Overview
The Workshop Technician IV (R&M Technician) role involves hands-on tasks utilizing Weatherford's facilities, equipment, machinery, and systems. This position is responsible for inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. The role encompasses the entire maintenance process from receiving tools to refurbishing them using technical manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily operations and safety meetings, including toolbox talks and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Report safety issues promptly using appropriate tools and protocols
- Repair machines, equipment, and structures using various tools including precision measuring instruments
- Inspect used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Follow established maintenance processes for disassembly/assembly, cleaning, painting, pressure testing, and inspection
- Complete all necessary documentation including AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists, and work orders
- Operate pallet jacks and forklifts for safe movement of equipment
- Process incoming and prepare outgoing shipments with accurate documentation
- Support LEAN initiatives and participate in continuous efficiency improvement programs
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment from approved suppliers
- For senior positions: Lead team assignments, troubleshoot equipment issues, implement corrective actions, conduct root cause analysis, and distribute work schedules
Skills:
- Basic Mathematics
- Experience working with hazardous materials, radioactive elements & explosives
- Awareness of NDT, NDE and ATEX policies & principles
- Ability to perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and monitoring of equipment
- Critical thinking, active learning & listening, complex problem solving
- Good reading and writing skills
- Strong judgment and decision-making aligned with policies & procedures
- Time management and quality control analysis skills
- Information & task ordering abilities
- Problem identification and solution skills
- Ability to visualize tool assembly, repair, and modifications
- For senior positions: Advanced diagnostic abilities and leadership skills
Qualifications:
- 6-8+ years of experience in Oil & Gas industry
- Experience in Fishing & re-entry equipment’s
- High School Diploma / bachelor degree
- Basic Computer Skills
- Physical capability to perform maintenance tasks including lifting and carrying.
- Certification for use of lifting equipment, including forklift trucks and cranes
