Job Description
Merritt Precision is seeking a strategic, results-oriented Director of Technical Sales & Engineering Services to drive business development, project execution, and technical innovation. This leadership role involves expanding market presence, developing high-value quoting strategies, leading engineering project delivery, and serving as a consultative partner to customers. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge in composites and engineering modeling with strong commercial acumen to guide Merritt Precision's growth. A key focus is partnering with customers to provide tailored design and engineering solutions that meet performance, timeline, and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales & Project Development
- Act as a senior technical advisor to customers from concept through execution, identifying value-added opportunities.
- Partner with customers to understand their design and engineering challenges, delivering customized solutions to enhance performance, manufacturability, and efficiency.
- Lead quoting processes for complex composite tooling and part projects, balancing technical feasibility with cost strategy.
- Expand and nurture customer and industry relationships to drive growth and long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate across departments to align quoting, engineering, and production with customer needs and timelines.
- Monitor and report on market trends, sales pipeline, and customer feedback to inform company strategy.
Engineering Services & Technical Leadership
- Provide hands-on leadership in engineering modeling, including surface design and 3D assemblies (SolidWorks, NX).
- Oversee project technical scope and feasibility, ensuring accurate interpretation of design requirements.
- Lead cross-functional project reviews and technical validations.
- Mentor and develop the engineering team to support innovation, efficiency, and technical excellence.
Business Growth & Strategic Initiatives
- Contribute to planning and development of new service offerings and expansion of engineering capabilities.
- Support development of new milling facilities and scaling operations through strategic input.
- Represent Merritt Precision at trade shows, conferences, and with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other Correct Craft entities on joint initiatives and opportunities.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Minimum 5 years of technical sales or project management experience in composites, marine, or aerospace industries.
- Strong engineering background with expertise in fiberglass lamination and composite materials.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX), focusing on surface and 3D modeling.
- Proven ability to lead quoting processes and develop project scopes.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- B.S. in Engineering or related field preferred.
**Preferred:**
- Experience with CNC machining and large-format tooling.
- Background in engineered product development or custom manufacturing.
- Understanding of molded part construction and marine systems.
- Familiarity with cost estimation tools and technical proposals.

This role involves occasional physical activity in office and factory settings, including PPE use, light lifting, and exposure to moderate noise and fiberglass environments.
