Job description

JASARA PMC is inviting applications for the position of Senior Specialist - Interior Design (DB). In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge and expertise in interior design to create dynamic and engaging environments within development projects. You will be responsible for guiding the design process, ensuring that all interior spaces are meticulously crafted to reflect the project’s vision while meeting functional requirements and enhancing user experiences.

As a Senior Specialist - Interior Design, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the design, development, and implementation of interior design for general areas within the theme park, including all Back of House areas, to ensure seamless navigation and immersive guest and staff experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and comment on interior design packages, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure alignment with the project’s creative vision and operational goals.
  • Provide technical guidance to consultants and contractors during the design and execution phases.
  • Collaborate with the Lead design consultant to ensure all designs meet aesthetic and functional requirements for seamless integration of interior within the overall theme park design.
  • Act as the client-side point of contact for interior design for the Lead Design consultant, creative designer, and contractors.
  • Ensure design packages align with project schedules, budgets, quality, and local standards.
  • Evaluate materials, finishes, and manufacturing techniques for suitability in high-traffic, themed environments.
  • Good understanding of applicable local/international building codes, safety standards, and accessibility requirements.
  • Integrate sustainable design principles and innovative technologies where applicable.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges during design development and installation phases.
  • Work closely with LDC, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate interior design with other project elements, including structure, MEP systems, and themed finishes.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between interior design and other disciplines, such as lighting, audio-visual systems, and ride systems.
  • Oversee mock-ups, prototypes, and sample reviews to ensure quality standards are met before full-scale implementation.
  • Report to the design manager and project leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities.
  • Address and resolve design-related issues promptly, ensuring no delays to the project schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience in entertainment, theme parks, hospitality, or large-scale mixed-use developments.
  • Experience with mega projects exceeding $100 million in value, with diverse facilities and themed environments.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience managing large-scale projects. Proven ability to manage technical aspects of interior design from concept through execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in interior design for large-scale projects, ideally in theme parks, entertainment venues, or mixed-use developments.
  • Proven track record in managing design and contractor teams on multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Expertise in materials, finishes, and manufacturing techniques for high-traffic environments.
  • Familiarity with international standards for accessibility, signage, and guest experience optimization.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
