Job Title: Process Control Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Process Studies and Design Modifications: Handle studies and design modifications for operating facilities. Develop simulation models for assigned facilities and validate plant mass balances.
Plant Performance Optimization: Review plant performance to ensure it operates as per design and identify opportunities to optimize operations and implement them accordingly.
Simulation Software: Use software simulation programs such as HYSYS and Promax for process design and analysis.
Technical Direction: Provide technical direction and support to both in-Kingdom and out-of-Kingdom design contractors for project execution.
Long-Term Strategies: Formulate and implement long-term strategies to improve operations, reduce costs, and enhance overall plant performance.
Shutdown and Start-up: Lead groups of engineers during the shutdown and start-up phases of existing plants.
Design Review and Modifications: Review work performed outside SAO to ensure its conformance with SAO conditions and recommend necessary modifications.
Service Requirements: Coordinate supporting service requirements such as drafting, surveying, materials take-off, requisitioning, and clerical services; ensure accuracy upon completion.
Cost Estimation: Develop cost estimates for engineering, labor, equipment, and materials. Assemble expenditure requests and justifications based on preliminary design data.
Problem Solving: Assist other engineers in solving problems outside their specialty and conduct studies related to the development, procurement, or adaptation of equipment.
Specifications and Design Basis: Develop engineering, material, and equipment specifications. Formulate design basis and support proposals for new construction, modifications, or equipment maintenance.
Construction Progress: Monitor the construction progress of assigned projects, ensuring conformance with engineering requirements. Recommend design changes and ensure the project remains within budget or justify cost overruns.

Qualifications and Experience:
Experience:

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience within refining, oil and gas, or petrochemical industries.
Strong proficiency in oil and gas industry codes and standards, including API, ISO, and ASME.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of metering systems.
Experience in process safety-related activities, such as HAZOP and Risk Assessment, is preferred.
Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Other advanced professional degrees are strongly preferred.
Skills:

Proficiency in simulation software such as HYSYS and Promax.
Strong knowledge of process optimization and plant performance review.
Ability to lead groups of engineers during critical phases like shutdowns and startups.
Experience with cost estimation for projects and modifications.
Strong ability to interpret and apply engineering codes and standards.
Excellent communication skills to interact with contractors and internal teams.
