RESPONSIBILITIES

Westlakes Recruit is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a UK-led project team based full-time on-site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The team is delivering critical infrastructure and equipment support to a key client in the region.

As part of this initiative, new accommodation facilities are being constructed to support one of the client's specialized operational units. These facilities will include living quarters, technical spaces, and associated service and security infrastructure.

This is a key leadership role focused on ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all personnel on site, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Development: Develop and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with local legislation and international best practices.
2. Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and audits; implement corrective and preventive measures.
3. Training: Organise and deliver HSE training for employees and contractors to ensure awareness and compliance.
4. Incident Management: Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses; produce reports and implement preventive actions.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Saudi Arabian health and safety laws and company standards.
6. Emergency Planning: Develop and maintain effective emergency response and evacuation procedures.
7. Performance Reporting: Prepare regular reports on health and safety performance for senior leadership.
8. Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing improvements in safety culture and practices across the project.
9. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with regulatory bodies, consultants, and other external stakeholders as required.

What You’ll Need

1. NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
2. IOSH membership (Chartered status preferred).
3. Proven experience in a senior health and safety management role.
4. Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian HSE legislation and enforcement.
5. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems.
