Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Professional to join the Champions Department.

The Champions Department is responsible for delivering end-to-end product development, entrepreneurship, and investment opportunities to transform lucrative business ideas into champions that foster job creation and economic growth.

As a Business Development Professional, your responsibilities will include sourcing new Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and ideas, conducting comprehensive due diligence, developing proposals and business plans, supporting localization of new strategic SMEs, executing investment opportunities, engaging with SMEs, partners, and investors, and negotiating with them.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform financial due diligence and analysis on prospective investment targets, including detailed financial valuation analysis.
2. Conduct market research in targeted sectors (e.g., Sustainability/Climate Tech, MedTech, HardTech, Fintech) to identify potential opportunities.
3. Develop, validate, and refine innovative business models aligned with long-term strategic goals.
4. Create financial models to enhance project return on investment and support financial planning.
5. Prepare financial documents for presentation to potential and current investors.
6. Analyze company accounts and financial projections, advising on optimal investment positioning.
7. Provide updates on financial market activities to position the company effectively in local and global markets.
8. Develop an investment policy aligned with company strategy and establish criteria for evaluating prospective projects.
9. Ensure compliance with all investment regulations.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Engineering; a Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
2. At least 9 years of experience in business development, investment support, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital, or consulting.
3. Strong experience assessing market landscapes, including structure, size, profitability, drivers of performance, trends, and outlook.
4. Proficiency in financial modeling and evaluating revenue and profit forecasts of targets.
5. Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of how business model decisions impact performance.
6. Comfort with ambiguity and fluid client situations; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; travel may be required.
7. Team-oriented work ethic and collaborative attitude.
8. Excellent presentation skills and fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
9. Professional certifications such as CFA, CMA, or PMP are advantageous.
