The Senior Category Manager is responsible for developing the overall strategy for a product category and researching new product opportunities within the category to drive sales and achieve set targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Analyze data to determine industry and consumer trends.
Identify and establish long-term partnerships with direct distributors and sellers.
Stay on the lookout for new suppliers based on strategy.
Assist in setting the yearly budget/sales target and profit per category.
Administer the price setting and respect the margin per category.
Monitor and enhance category/product performance.
Establish long-term development strategies for product categories.
Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products.
Create trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.
Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility.
Monitor price and competition.
Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories.
Assume responsibility for budget development and revenue for the category.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Prefer e-commerce working experience, like noon/amazon, or experience in the retail industry.
Strong organizational and structural skills; knowledge in financial acumen.
High level of commitment.
Proficient in time management.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical skills; comfortable dealing with numerical data and have a strong attention to detail.
Ability to dig into detail, manage complexity, and drive decision-making.
