Job Overview

We are seeking an Artificial Intelligence Specialist (AIS) to join the Gas Operations Technical Support Division. This division provides AI-powered solutions to all Gas Plants, leveraging AI advancements to support data-driven decisions in safety, environment, energy, efficiency, and value creation.

The primary role of the AI Specialist is to collaborate with the Gas Business Line and other entities to manage AI business cases—from identifying challenges and opportunities to solution scouting, formulation, scoping, funding, proof of concept, deployment, evaluation, and value tracking.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team overseeing AI business cases from challenge identification to value realization.
  • Collaborate with internal/external partners and third parties to advance AI implementation in Gas.
  • Prioritize AI projects and ensure quality in all deliverables for funding.
  • Develop a roadmap for scaling AI solutions across the Business Line.
  • Facilitate and monitor AI solution development and execution with stakeholders.
  • Develop Generative AI use cases for safety, environment, operations, and maintenance.
  • Apply statistical methods to test hypotheses and validate results.
  • Build and optimize machine learning models for specific problems, including anomaly detection and predictive models.
  • Identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks, ensuring compliance with data privacy standards.
  • Serve as the Gas AI focal point and coordinator with other entities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Machine Learning, AI, or related fields from an accredited university. An advanced degree is desirable.
  • At least 10 years of experience in data analytics products or machine learning models.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, with experience in statistical and data cleaning libraries, visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong knowledge of regression, classification, association rules, clustering, big data, SQL, NLP, neural networks, and advanced visualization. Understanding of statistical, predictive, and optimization algorithms is required.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to extract insights from data.
  • Basic project management skills for planning and executing data science projects.
  • Experience in deploying AI solutions in Oil and Gas is preferred.
  • Knowledge of plant automation systems, OPC interfaces, and process historians like PI is desirable.
