Job description

Title: Lead Compliance Coordinator


Job Responsibilities:


  • Manages and leads Safety and Environment initiatives and personnel. Interfaces and negotiates with regulatory bodies, clients, and subcontractors. Responsible for executing the processes that directly impact training, report writing, quality control, plan development, and implementation. Under broad direction, is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related disciplines or sub-groups within a function. Manages the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to managers or professional staff. Participates in the development of functional strategy and may be responsible for global processes and procedures.
  • Implemented health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and guidelines for employee and department safety.
  • Interacted with services personnel, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to research and interpret standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Ensure all contractor and subcontractor personnel attend site safety orientations and applicable safety training.
  • Communicate safety rules and standards to the contractor and subcontractor workforce.
  • Ensure compliance of subcontractors performing field work activities within premises.
  • Provide/assist with safety training for personnel.
  • Periodically inspect the work site, report any unsafe acts/conditions to the area supervisor and/or foreman, provide recommendations to correct deficiencies, and follow up to verify corrective actions have been taken.
  • Keep a record of safety meetings, including agendas and personnel attendance records.
  • Keep a permanent record of job-related injuries/illnesses, near misses, fires, motor vehicle accidents, property damage, crane and heavy equipment incidents, etc.
  • Participate in incident investigations, safety meetings, drills, etc., and conduct/facilitate safety training sessions.
  • Ensure general safety rules are printed in languages understood by contractor and subcontractor personnel and are posted in areas where they are clearly visible.
  • Determine requisites for and organize audits of company-operated properties. Keep informed of regulatory requirements and auditing standards.

Minimum Requirements: Relevant degree or diploma and minimum 5+ years of experience.
