Job Responsibilities:
- Design and manage the dining room layout, including table/seat/section numbers, setup, room capacity, hours of operation, price range, and dress code.
- Track daily house count, arrivals, departures, and VIP guests.
- Organize scheduled in-house group activities with designated locations and times.
- Answer telephone calls promptly within 3 rings, using appropriate salutations and etiquette.
- Record and confirm restaurant reservations and cancellations according to departmental standards.
- Communicate reservation or cancellation updates to management during shifts.
- Ensure compliance with departmental standards in preparing assignments.
- Maintain cleanliness and sufficient stock of menus and check folders.
- Keep the hostess stand clean and organized.
- Review reservation book, pre-assign tables, and follow up on special requests.
- Greet guests upon arrival.
- Seat guests according to the floor plan, ensuring fairness among staff.
- Show guests to their designated tables and ensure their satisfaction.
- Present menus to guests.
- Ensure tables are properly set for optimal guest service.
- Anticipate busy times and organize procedures to manage waiting lines efficiently.
- Respond promptly to guest needs and acknowledge guests throughout their visit.
- Maintain positive relations with guests at all times.
- Be knowledgeable about hotel services and activities to answer guest inquiries accurately.
- Handle guest complaints following instant pacification procedures to ensure satisfaction.
- Monitor guest reactions and collaborate with management to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Ensure all tables are cleared and reset according to procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of equipment and supplies in own section.
- Assist restaurant staff as needed to ensure optimal guest service.
- Promote a cooperative working environment to maximize productivity and quality.
- Conduct systematic table visits during each meal period to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Encourage F&B outlets to guests during downtime.
- Complete training processes successfully.
- Assist the supervisor in cashiering procedures, ensuring accuracy and proper balancing.
- Assist in menu printing and updates.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Host/Hostess.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Experience managing reservations.
- Strong customer service skills.
