Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to join the Business Enablers & Commercial Readiness Division under the IK Liquids to Chemicals Program Development.

The division is responsible for overseeing and supporting all Liquid to Chemicals (LTC) program projects with the objective of meeting mandates, milestones, and deliverables to meet the task objectives. Additionally, the division oversees the implementation of project governance and its alignment with all stakeholders.

The primary role of the candidate will be to direct activities related to sourcing, screening, analyzing the market, and identifying petrochemical growth opportunities. This includes conducting research to identify business opportunities for new chemical product planning and developing economic models that best serve the project strategies and capital investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide technical input to economic modeling.
  • Develop chemical process yields, qualities, and balances for process configurations in refining & chemical units.
  • Possess strong experience in refining & chemicals derivative processes.
  • Be familiar with refining & chemicals technologies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on the financial models' outputs and guide management in selecting optimal configurations for LTC projects.
  • Provide technical support for capital projects involving petrochemical units at various stages of the project lifecycle (pre-feasibility, feasibility, pre-feed, feed, basic design, detailed engineering, and construction).
  • Analyze the market and identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Conduct research on competitors to identify opportunities for new products or services.
  • Research new technologies, regulations, and other factors affecting the business model.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients to generate revenue.
  • Deliver tools, templates, and systems to ensure safe, passionate, and flawless project delivery.
  • Liaise between project management and technical disciplines to achieve integration across all project areas.
  • Ensure the contractor has appropriate tools and systems for project execution.
  • Manage scope, risks, and interfaces, including documentation and coordination between internal and external parties.
Minimum Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably chemical engineering, or alternatively in accounting, economics, or finance, with extensive experience in the refining and petrochemicals field.
  • Have at least 12-15 years of experience focused on refining & petrochemicals, preferably with a market outlook perspective in the GCC/MENA region, including at least 2 years in economics modeling related to downstream and petrochemicals industries.
