Job description

Definition:

  • A Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement process for an organization, ensuring that the company acquires goods and services at the best possible prices while maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to support the organization’s operational needs.

General Characteristics:

  • Communicate with vendor, process and monitor purchase orders, follow up with suppliers to meet delivery schedules and inform the project team in case of potential delays.
  • Strategize and oversee activities related to receiving and dispatching shipments such as confirming accuracy of orders and generating reports on work progress, completion dates, production challenges, stock levels, and costs by coordinating with different departments internally such as Design, Procurement, Project Management, and vendors/suppliers.
  • Monitor project delivery timelines, check work quality against company requirements and specifications, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support the activities of the bidding project by supporting the resourcing activities, identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, and initiating communication.
  • Create and maintain ISR for the Bidding projects for the IK vendors' response.
  • Support the activities of project execution including all procurement activities (preorder and post-order) to source the main equipment and materials for the IK projects.
  • Support the procurement planning and resourcing activities.
  • Conduct surveys, visits, and audits of potential suppliers based on company procedures and evaluation sheets when required.
  • Support the RFQ issuance activity and expedite vendor quotation receiving and clarification.
  • Create and maintain ISR for the purchasing stage (preorder) and PSR/ESR for the execution stage (post-order) and keep updating with the concerned parties until the completion of the activities.
  • Coordinate between Seoul office and local vendors for technical and commercial clarification.
  • Arrange and conduct meetings with IK vendors along with the business traveler from the Seoul office.
  • Get PO acknowledgements and arrange & participate in the KOM for PO execution.
  • Monitor and expedite PO execution activities with vendors and Seoul office personnel to meet delivery schedules & notify the project team in case of potential delays & mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with the QC team to arrange inspections and clarify with vendors until the issuance of the IRC.
  • Coordinate with vendors, site, and logistics team for delivery to the job site.
  • Conduct surveys like IKTVA and local content status, vendor workload status, and vendor investigations upon requirement.

Skills

Education:

• Bachelor of Engineering, and/or other related disciplines.

Experience:

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in Procurement, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Min. 5 years of experience in manufacturing or EPC related to the Oil & Gas Construction Industry.
  • Experience working on projects for Saudi Aramco, Sabic is preferred.
  • Experience and training in purchasing and must possess the ability to establish a wide range of market sources.
  • Must be adept in the selection of products and construction materials and can estimate values according to prevailing market prices.
  • Middle East experience is mandatory and working experience with Samsung Engineering shall be an added advantage.
