Electrical Engineer Job Description

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising all activities related to the hospital's electricity generation and distribution systems. This includes maintaining and repairing generators, electrical devices, and equipment, as well as installing and repairing lines and cables.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing and updating work procedures, especially for power outages.
  2. Reviewing preventive maintenance programs and ensuring efficiency of electrical systems.
  3. Managing BMS, fire safety, and low current systems.
  4. Assigning duties to technicians and overseeing their work.
  5. Developing staff training and education programs.
  6. Coordinating with other maintenance branches and hospital departments for integrated maintenance.
  7. Providing technical assistance and evaluating staff performance.
  8. Ensuring availability of tools, parts, and spare components.
  9. Participating in meetings, symposiums, and quality assurance programs related to electrical maintenance.
  10. Maintaining documentation and reporting on electrical maintenance activities.
  11. Performing additional tasks within the field of electrical maintenance as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in electrical equipment maintenance in a hospital setting.
  • Experience with CBAHI and/or JCI standards is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong computer skills, including CAD, CAM, MATLAB, and LabView.
  • Ability to perform simulations and analyze data.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards and specifications.
